Show Time!
"Biding His Time" Acrylic & Pastel 11x14" 2018 1st Place Mixed Media - NAAA It's that time of year! Shows, exhibits and workshops, Oh my! So far you've had a chance to see my art at the Arts on the Green in New London, NH., and at the Greeley Park Art Show in Nashua, NH. I've had a lot of fun at these two (new to me) venues. Here are some photos from the latest show in Greeley Park. One of the most exciting parts of the Greeley Park show was that I received first place in mi

Summer is in full swing
I hope everyone is enjoying this summer weather and managing to stay cool when it has been above 90 degrees! I'm more of an autumn gal but I am happy to be out and about doing all kinds of art related events. The photo above is at the annual Keene Art Walk 2018. I have my display in the window behind me as I work on a fawn. I still haven't finished or named this piece yet, but I hope to complete it before the month is over. This little guy won't tear your house apart or beg for fo

Out and about in October
"Jelly Jive" 16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas unframed Click to view on website Here's a taste of what I've been working on lately. I went for an ultramarine background and then had a lot of fun with metallic paints, molding paste and clear tar gel for some details in this piece. Jellyfish are such bizarre and fascinating creatures. Did you know that they don't have bones, heads, hearts or brains? They don't swim! They are at the mercy of the ocean currents as they float along. A

Coming up in October!
"Chelonian Treasures" 16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas October is almost upon us! I can't believe how fast the days are going by and how little I seem to accomplish. Must be the shorter daylight hours! Autumn is my favorite time of the year so I'm looking forward to all the fall weather and activities that go along with it, even if it means winter is getting closer. BOOO! Anyway, here is a painting I've been working on and finally finished. Chelonians are the order of reptiles i

Showtime in September
"Tiny Dragonfly" 4" x 4" Acrylic on Canvas (Available) September is back to school month for my kids, and back to shows, creating art and doing the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge for myself. Summer Shenanigans!
"Killers" 14"x 18" Acrylic on Canvas Ok, not really. No shenanigans have been happening here, just a lot of chauffeuring children and keeping them busy and entertained. I can't believe we are over 2/3 of the way through summer vacation though. I will miss them being home but it will be nice to have a cleaner house again. Sorry girls! LOL "Beluga Blues" 16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas Since I posted last I've finished the Art Walk which was a nice experience and I currently have a

Blog Slacking!
Yup, I've done it again. It's been WAY too long since I've posted a blog. Kids are out of school, the weather is nice and sitting in front of a computer to write a post just hasn't been appealing to me. I feel like this iguana, basking in the sun and loving life. (He is a mixed media piece on paper) I happen to be at my Mother-in-law's house this weekendĀ and couldn't sleep well so I got up early and thought I'd write a quick post on my smartphone. The Keene Art Walk was great

Spring is Here??
"Curious and Curiouser" 9" x 12" Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper WOW! I missed posting the entire month of April! Shame on me. Also, shame on Mother Nature for the shoddy spring we are having! Here in New Hampshire and most of New England we have had a slow start to spring and now that it's officially here (flowers, green grass, leaves on trees) it's still super COLD! In two weeks we have had one sunny day...ONE! Enough! I need to see the sun, having fibromyalgia and having c
